Providers of food, sheltered waters for shipping, development of UK’s industrial structure, places for relaxation, human contact and trade.

Sense of freedom in estuaries, possibilities of distant journeys, looking out towards the international and inwards to the national.

I focused my study on the place where the estuary feels neither sea nor river, where the flux seems most apparent and liminal.
