Art Omi 1999 - Artists' residency in New York state

I logged, mapped, photographed a field attached to the residency farm site over a period of three weeks. Walking and rewalking, becoming familiar and intimate with the landscape. 

Understanding what was around me from a felt bodily experience not an academic knowledge of the names of trees, soil structure, plants.

Following my own instructions, for example:

Photo the sky looking north from the same point every day

Walk diagonally across the field drawing what was ahead of me every 30 paces

Pressing samples of the plants
